Iriomote Cat

I slipped on a poo and looked at my shoes, (1)

And suddenly knew what I needed to do... (2)

I took out my notebook and sketched muddy hints, (3)

And learned there were elusive Iriomote cat prints! (4)

It’s poo was quite narrow and dark as the night, (5)

A secretive dropping almost hidden from sight! (6)

The Iriomote cat prowls on one tiny isle, (7)

A small spotted wildcat with secretive style! (8)

I closed up my notebook and tucked it away, (9)

With wildcat prints noted, no time to delay, (10)

I cleaned off my shoes and pulled up my socks, (11)

And smiled at the memory of all of my walks! (12)
